Indiana 2010 Chickenstock-2011 NEWS!!

Short of re-searching previous threads, i'm looking for some orphington pullets. At least 4 or 5 months old. A friend of mine and I are in need of some. I thought I had one and made arrangements for a roo but she crowed this morning. WE know what that means. She growed her a pair.

Anyway. I'm in the marked for 3 or 4 of the blue variety. If anybody has some that aren't spoken for please PM me.
To the person with all the turkeys, short of re reading previous posts, I may be interested in a couple depending on price. When I have more time i'll go back and find where you posted about them and PM you.

I've decided I really want to make it out there! I'm so glad I was directed to this thread! If you need any food or anything else in particular, let me know and I will try and bring something delicious or of use!

I'm excited to meet lots of great chicken owners, learn some things, and maybe even get my very first flock started!

Good afternoon everyone! It's been a better day since not being at the fair lol... Woke up to wonderfull Kernal and Bubba crowing and then a little squeaky crow out there that needs some oil LMAO! Right now Tyson (thats what we named the lil serama roo

) is sitting on my lap taking a nap as I type. I just love the lil bugger! He's already trying to mate with some wyandotte hens but he's so small so he just gets flung around

I am still able to bring hatching eggs (if requested!)of :

LF White Leghorns (trio)
Bantam Wyandottes (Blue male, 2 black hens and 1 blue hen)
Coturnix quail (jumbo male,2 jumbo hens,2 cinnimon hens,1 tibetan tux hen, 1 tibetan hen, and 1 english/italian hen)

I will not bring any if no one requests them

I am looking for:
1 or 2 Ostrich or emu eggs (1 to eat and 1 to blow out)
6-12 coturnix quail egg cartons (I need these badly LOL)
1 single nest box for my leghorn hen that lives in the house (had to throw away her cardboard one

)

I am willing to pay for these items if anyone has these!

I have also thought about hosting a weird egg competition for anyone who wants to enter. I thought it would be fun after looking at the zapped quail egg I got a while ago! I'd need atleast 10 or so people to bring a "weird egg" to the Chickenstock and people would be able to cast their votes for which ever egg was the weirdest.
Let me know if anyone is interested in something like this

Of course there will be a prize!

I wonder how much I could get for a pair of Kernals spurrs

He got his pulled off the other day at the fair and he's perfectly fine! No harm done to the big boy. He's walking and strutting so much better now.

I have 3 familys that I invited from the Fair to come to the Chickenstock. Hopefully they will be able to make it

I printed off the first page and gave them each a copy of it. Hopefully they can get registered on here soon

Royal Palm is like my dream turkey (I just find them to be stunning), but I don't mind mixes. What can I expect the weight to top out at? How old are they when you can tell what they are (boy vs. girl), if I get a few, what are the chances I end up with a bunch of toms? I have that kind of luck. Look at my February purchase of 3 Swedish drakes and only 1 Swedish hen

I'm still kicking myself for that one. And how much are you asking for them?

Im curious what your asking for any of them myself. I may be interested. I've always wanted turkeys.

Ok, this is a tentative list of what I'm bringing. I have to go back through and look at my birds and see what more I have

White Silkies 9weeks old and under (6 are on hold). Should have 3 or 4 more still to sell

Mixed breed Bantam pullets, mostly Cochin and Silkie mixes, sweet as can be 9 weeks and under

Speckled Sussex. I believe I have 6 pullets and 2 cockerels. These are almost to the POL at 14 weeks. At chickenstock they will be 16 weeks old

Black Copper Marans and Blue Marans. Mostly roos, but I do have a couple of pullets to sell. 9 weeks and under

Pure Bantam Cochins. I currently have White, Blue, Black, and Barred. 9 weeks and under. Again, the pullets have sold quite well, but I do still have some pullets. Sweet, cute little things! I just love Cochins!

White Silkie roo, 1 yr old. He's gorgeous, makes beautiful babies and is super good with the ladies and chicks, but he and my younger daughter just don't get along. I think it's because I have roos in the coop that stress him out. Long story short, the annoying roos are going to freezer camp and this boy needs a home where he will preferably be the only roo. He is stunning and is my baby, I just want him to go to a good home

Mixed cockerels-FREE

What I might be looking for is:

A Bantam White Cochin pullet

Columbian Cochins

Partridge Cochin pullets

Buff Silkie pullets and maybe a cockerel

Young duck hens. I currently have Swedish and I'd just like a few hens for them to pal around with. Maybe runners or Pekins? Or Cayugas, or whatever. But girls only! I already have too many drakes!!!

Polishes. My younger daughter really wants some. Possibly Buff Laced or another pretty color? White is nice too.

A Button quail hen. I'm getting one for my little boy, but I'd like one more. Color doesn't matter

I think that's what I'm looking for at the moment. If the price is right, and the birds look good, I might get some. My mom is asking for the White Cochin pullet. She loves white birds and some nasty puppies ate the one I bought last year, and she really misses her.

If you have something I want, or I have something you want, PM me and we can work something out.
