Hmm... seems I keep replying to your posts, lol. Auto mechanics use the zip ties a lot and I used to be one. Are you using side-cutters to cut them off?

I too don't like using zip ties. I think he main reason is I live alone and trying to put on and take hem off by yourself has proven to be challenging. I need to run over to the farm store in Peru Indiana as they stock red and white spiral ones. Not sure of exact size. I'd really love to find a starter pack that has a few of each size. Then I can just buy 2-3 packs in different colors.

i do not put any on mine right now. I just cut excess of when using them for other things. Although i used to use them and i put them on by my self. I either sit on a bucket with them upside down inbettwen my legs/on lap and hold legs while I put it on. Or hold them against my side with my arm and put it on. I try to so things myself. Family and friends not very interested, but would help if I asked and i would rather just handle them by myself

Must be a day for first eggs. We found our first one today as well. Was beginning to give up on the girls. That is my husband's hand by the way, so the egg is much larger than I expected for a first go.
