INDIANA BYC'ers HERE!

I know, just with all the illness and injuries that have been happening latley make me worry which is why I decided this- I have decided for the most part I am just buying hatching eggs and chicks/chickens from people I know and trust that they have a healthy flock. Now what i need to figure out is when I start selling chick, chickens, eggs how do I make sure no one is bringing things with them and contaminate my flock. I need to research some on that.

Make people put on these shoe covers before allowing them into your facilities.

Ive gotten 6 eggs from my tolbunt pair and so far 5 have been infertile! I just got the 6th egg today so it will go into the incubator tonight. Surely they will be fertile eventually lol
Hang chicken pinup calendars in the chicken house. Set up a TV & X-Rated DVD in there, too.

I just ordered 12 CCL pullets & 3 unrelated CCL roo chicks from babymakes6. With her excellent reputation, I am anxiously awaiting the little varmits.

It will probably be a month or so before I get them (hatch to order).

Next spring, you and I and racinchickins should have some trading material.

Now that it is less than a week away, who is going to the show in Bloomington? I've seen people posting on and off about it. We just decided that we will be going, and I'd like to see anyone else who is there.

If you are going, what time are you planning on being there?

Should be fun. Never been to a show before that wasn't during the fair.
They have to be in the coops by 9am, so we will probly get there alitte after 8am.

Not the best pic, but nothing cuter than a fluffy head sticking out of Mama's feathers!!
Hen is beautiful, love the pic.

there is one bidder that already out bid John on them. I thought maybe it was a barely out bid thing but no the other bidder must really really want them. I will wait for the next listing. The others i got off ebay are going to be set on Wed so I really should wait and see if they hatch for me. setting eggs is addicting but can be cheaper than chicks. Not always though, the safe way is to buy these auto sexed chicks. Still i will not pay greenfire prices if I don't have too. I can only hear all of the people on CL laughing their heads off if I was to list a chick for over $50 and have a minimum to buy.
I bid $20 on them and almost immediately regretted it. After reading about Brad's difficulties with the CCL, I was concerned that I would only slow-cook them. Luckily, I got out bid.

I ordered 12 pullet & 3 unrelated roo CCL chicks from babymakes6. She has quality birds and knows what she's doing with an incubator. This way, I know exactly what I'm getting. More money, but guaranteed results.

Now all I have to do is to figure out how to slip the money aside without my wife detecting my subterfuge.

I'll do my best. Maybe be using my broody cochin instead of the incubator lol. Apparently she thinks her calling is brooding and not laying at 6 months old.

I saw you said you have aquariums. I don't suppose you have any use for Kenyi cichlids or an 10 in or 13 inch pleco? We have a 50 gallon I am thinking of getting rid of, but I would like to find homes for the fish.
The cichlids probably wouldn't last long in the salt water.

640 watt lights for the coral. You would love my light bill.

Since n one probably saw my post what to do about my broody, could I let her hatch silkie eggs in a large fowl coop? Im annoyingly desperate for advice on her. Sorry everyone. I just dont have a place to break her. Im worried for her health though being 6 months old.

She's been with the LF gang for this long, I can't see what would change with her sitting on a bunch of eggs. Probably make her happy. Make sure she has food and water nearby and go for it.

Besides, I want my silkie chicks.
