INDIANA BYC'ers HERE!

Good idea cluck. That would increase surface are better then just a pan of water. Should Iput them under the egg rack? Right now my water/sponges are under the fan, and on a side.
Yeah chick fever forr sure bwindell!

LOOK AT HOW TINY! If I knew what Iwanted, Iwould have looked for certain colored ones.
I lucked out at the La Porte TSC...I had the lady call me when they came in and got first pick :) Was able to get the only silkie (white) and the only Seabright (silver). They make you get 6 so I filled my order with a GLW and 3 EEs - 1 cockeral, 1 pullet, and one that I wasn't sure on.

well the gang is doing good Flo is getting much bigger and Scarlet and RB are growing tails so there not araconas but amercanas, Bella is going to end up looking like my big one (her name is Eagle) and amber is getting bigger and has a redish tint to her :) so excited on what there going to look like when older :)

The members list and links page helps us all. You may have a certain breed to sell someone is looking for, and this isn't just about chickens! Some of us have a variety of critters

. Springs almost here and everyone will be going full speed looking for babies to grow their flock or herd.

I would like to thank you, everyone who helps with this thread, and everyone who helps each other! I am not sure if I can help with this thread, but let me know if I can: I am an Apple Mac user and a graphic designer. I don't do spread sheets, never have used Google docs although I'm sure I could figure it out. I like that you've started sub categories (like Events, Food Coop, etc.) because there are so many posts that it would be a hassle to go back and try to find someone's advice. For example, I'd like to see headings for the posts about food fermintation, remedies for parasites, photos, etc. I suppose that would compete with the overall BYC site. Since I am fairly new to BYC, maybe I just don't know how to navigate it very well.

Can I ask something here without getting my head bitten off?

What is the difference between EEs and Ameraucanas? If they are the same breed just different colors, why are they called something else? I am just trying to understand. I believe I have ameraucanas but the Ameraucana thread on here got pretty nasty and I don't care to go back there to ask. Can anyone help me with this? Here are some pictures of my chicks.

I was told I had 1 black, a silver, a wheaton and 3 blue wheaton and 1 chick they weren't sure what color it woud be. The odd ball could be an EE but the rest look like they should as chicks according to the pictures I was sent for the standard for the breed.
Hi! Ameraucanas arethe original breed. They have tufts on their cheeks and beards. Araucanas and EEs are crosses off Ameraucanas and onlu have Cheek tufts and NO beards. :a
