I hav a BIG problem....HELP!!! Please!!!! What is wrong with this baby??? Is there ANYTHING I can do to help her???
This is a straight on shot. Her head is literally turned nearly upside down! She's stumbling everywhere!!! She's only 17 hrs old, I've bn giving her vitamins in her water and even let her hav some straight from th eye dropper. She can't eat unless she's held and the food is softened with th vitamin water. I had 8 Silkie eggs only 4 hatched, two hav already died she's #3... I don't want t lose another one... Please help.
I've run into this before and was able to have the chicken make it through crook neck, it was a silkie as well. I separated her from the bunch and put her into a milk crate (she was a couple of months old) and the close confinement kept her from literally rolling all over the place. I fed her crumble feed mixed with water so it was the consistency of wet food for cats almost. I mixed in selenium, vitamin b and vitamin e. I got all the vitamins at a GNC. I crushed the vitamin b pills so they were just powder and mixed it in with her wet food. I pierced the vitamin e pills and squeezed out the liquid from the capsule. For the selenium, it was a powder inside a gel cap and easily came out. She ate it really well, at first I was feeding and giving her water via a baby medicine dropper to ensure she got enough but after day two she was eating on her own. I did this for a couple of weeks and she ended up being okay then, so I just started putting Manna Life vitamin supplements with their water so everyone got it.

Here's where I got my info from, I didn't get prednisone as none of the vets around here service chickens: http://www.browneggblueegg.com/Article/Crookneck/Crookneck.html.

I hope this helps!

ellymayRans ~ So sorry to hear! :hugs That's terrible to not know what happened!
Btw, I am still wanting a frizzle or a sizzle or any kind of izzle (I'm sounding like Snoop Dog :p  ), so if you have one available sometime, please let me know.
[rule]racinchickins ~ Just fyi, Eastside Evansville RK has brahmas--and many other breeds. I looked at chicks there today-- just looked. I heard a sales guy say that they're getting another shipment of chicks in a week. I'm thinking that you recently said that you wished you had bought some Brahmas when they were available at your store. Or that may have been bradselig who said that! Both of you are big chicken collectors!
[rule]DuckiesGarden ~ When you said "play sand for my kids" I thought you meant your chicken kids!   Btw, I like your plate with marching ants that you used for your egg display.
toodlesmom ~ Hey, nice to hear from you again!
I bet Play Sand could be a problem for some, but I bet construction sand isn't sterilized. However, since kids play in the dirt, they don't necessarily need sterile sand-- unless they plan on inhaling it! If it's not one thing, it's another! haha   :p

I have two frizzled boys that she mothered if you're interested.

I hope you all don't mind my pond posts, but I am just absolutely stunned at the visitors we've been getting the last couple of days. A pair of wood ducks has just joined the party! With the exception of the mallards & geese, I had never seen any of these ducks before. I'm spending way too much time trying to ID them online! So at this moment we have 2 pair redheads, 1 pair wood ducks, 1 pair mallards & 2 canadian geese (for awhile there was a geese love triangle going on -- got a bit loud briefly!) I can keep such close tabs because the pond is fairly close to the house & I just look out the living room windows. If anyone wants to stop by for a look let me know!
