INDIANA BYC'ers HERE!

Does anyone want a lavender male guinea? He's our only remaining guinea and he's worn out my patience. I just got the sweetest birds from Brad and he is beating up the cochin without mercy. He hasn't actually hurt her yet, but I'm worried it's just a matter of time. I actually locked him out of the coop last night I was so mad. He's meaner than dirt and he needs to go. Perhaps he'd do better with other guineas to keep him in line?

I've got a couple of guineas that wouldn't mind a new friend.

Okay all, in an effort to NOT clutter up this thread with all the Chickenfest info and hopefully make it easier to find the info we need, I started an Indiana Chickenfest 2014 thread.

Here is the address: https://www.backyardchickens.com/t/905471/indiana-chickenfest-2014

I also really like Chickcrazed idea of a public google doc - but in case that does not work for everyone we also have this thread.

I have a 3 month old GLW cockerel if anyone in NE Indiana wants him. Free if you pick him up. I think he's going to be beautiful but I only want one rooster and that's Fred, my Golden Polish. The GLW is destined for the stew pot, too, if no one is interested. The photos aren't uploading from my phone. I will try to post tomorrow from my laptop. He is getting green in his tail feathers now.

My hens feathers arent growing back from roo damage. I am at a loss. Blueberry my big cochin is the only mature boy out there now with 22 hens. How is it they are possibly still sustaining damage or just not healing. Most feathrs are broken, so doens that mean They have to wait for molt to get them back?????

My hens are all still bald from my Roos and they left weeks before Gus did. I'd say it is normal since we are in the same boat! I also don't have a roo out there with them so I know it isn't further damage, it just has not filled back in.

Hmm, I guess we wait for a major molt then huh? LOL I feel like my neighbors are going to call animal welfare on us. They look pitiful. Bluesberry is clumbsy and has done some new damage. He isn't mean, just a clutz. He weighs about 11 lbs and has terrible coordination. I hope he grows out of that. My blue Cochin hen is on 2 of her own eggs right now due friday. I think they are Blueberrys. Gus has been gone long enough I think for her to have BB's chicks. I'm really excited for LF cochin chicks!. Let me know if your girls start looking better. I feel like I need to pluck all the broken feathers so they grow back and not get sun burnt if I take their aprons off lol.
