strssdmom- this was my first winter so I am new to it all too. My coup is not heated or insulated and they have done just fine. And we will be building a bigger one ASAP because chicken math has taken over here too. With 9 full grown and now with 20 chicks to add. And that doesn't count my Bantys. Good luck, there is a lot to learn on here!!!

. Also, this time I sliced a jar lid and slid it between the lamp fixture and cabinet liner so it doesn't melt my wall. Got my fan up next to that. A perfect sized glass door under where the roller will slide. I will be ready to set more in a day or two. This one should hold 24 eggs at most. It is more chick friendly for when they hatch too. Everything is up high and covered with wire mesh or the soup can.
