ETA: Oh, duck people, one thing I wanted to ask! I believe these two are around 5 months old, maybe 6 months. Lately, I've noticed when they get into the water that Malcolm has been nibbling at Trudi's feet and tail and sometimes pulling on her wing feathers. Is he just maturing faster than she is and, well, asking for something ( ), or should I be worried about this behavior?

;) yep its starting! He is flirting with her. Great to hear they are doing well!

Uh-oh! I guess they have to grow up some time.

Well, Trudi's having none of it thus far. Whenever Malcolm starts at her, she goes over to the steps and stands in the shallow water while Mal continues to swim around. I guess he's not too determined, huh?

Anyway, against my gut feeling, I went ahead and used that last hour of daylight to get some painting done on the duck coop, since it looks like today was our last decent day for a while. So all that's left to do is get the hardware cloth over the vents, and perhaps a second coat of paint on the windows, and we're all set for ducky occupancy. :D I feel better about the progress now, as the hardware cloth isn't too difficult to do in the cold or rain, so I can get that done later this week.

The only thing is, now I have to do calculus homework into the night. It isn't due for a long time, but I have a test in the morning and I'd like the practice beforehand. :/ Oh, well. I guess I'd better go do that!

Wow, that's a way to start! I guess she wanted an audience to debut her egg laying.
:drool I really like this setup!! Thanks for the pictures! :D If you don't mind me asking, about how much did those kennel panels cost you? (And sorry if you answered that already. )
Haha, I knew you'd be excited! :D [/quot

I thought so too lol. And to top it off she hasn't missed a day. 3 days in a row, and even on the way home.
