Just a quick stop-in. Wanted to share a link to an article that just skims the subject of antibiotic use in livestock.

It's a VERY IMPORTANT subject for our health and I thought worth the read. It's short and doesn't even begin to get into the depths of the problem but is sure is worth familiarizing yourself with and taking the time to stop and think of the long-term, broad results that your actions today may have in the long-term.

I finally got all of our freezer roosters put well into the freezer. But what do I find today as I'm looking over my backup breeder roosters, another rooster that is not breeder best. I'm going to find him a home, I hope. If not he will be New's Year Eve's dinner instead of a ham.

We did our final batch of processing last weekend, and got everything into the freezer this week. I went back and forth if I wanted to process all of my Jersey Giant boys, and in the end I did because I had sooo many roosters. Now that I've had a chance to look at each before we bagged and froze them, I wish I wouldn't have. My biggest roo that we processed weighed 7.1 lbs dressed. The smallest Turkey hen was 7.2 lbs dressed. I'll be looking for a good JG roo in the spring now.

I'll have 4 roos remaining of my reds but this guy popped out a white feather. I'm using 2 to breed and 2 for backup. It was 3 for backup before today and 4 before Thanksgiving. For different reasons I keep knocking roos out of the breeder list. I plan to cull the hens hard once I have more of them. I ended up culling about 1/2 - 2/3 of my RIR hens as pet quality this year but next year I'll be even more picky.

I'd help you out with a JG if I had one. It be neat to have chickens as big as mini turkey hens. my reds are almost there but not quite.

My CCL roo is getting a good bit of weight on him. I'm getting excited to see how large some of his chicks are. He is so much larger than last year's CCL roo I got from an ebay egg.

I have some BSL and RIR we were going to process this weekend just because I have to many birds and no one has been interested in buying them. Let me know if she's interested! I'm in danville on the west side but travel to the north side frequently so I'd be happy to meet somewhere.

Thank you for the response. I just found out that she got hold of some birds. Thank you for your willingness to help.
