I was In animal control several years, and this is my biggest peeve out there! I would ask your friend to make a report, via police dept. These people are obviously not concerned with the losses their dogs cause and its breaking the law. If it starts costing them money it will make them confine the dogs. My dad and I lost a bottle baby goat several years ago, stray dogs drug the little goat out between the gate post and gate, snapping off its horns and killed it. The poor little goat was raised around dogs and didn't know any better. Dad was out getting his Sunday paper and saw it. He ran towards the dogs, and the larger dog went after him! Dad pelted it with rocks and ran it off.Thank you all for the advice. I think the bird may have been too injured. It passed this morning. My friend also had two others that didn't return home.
I wish people would keep better containment on their dogs. Especially since this is a repeat issue with their neighbor. she said they only say they are sorry but never offer to do anything about it. I would not be so nice if it were my birds and rabbits.
I called the county sheriff, made the report and we never saw the dogs again. Didn't replace our little goat though, just saddens and angers me people can be so irresponsible.
Hello all. The wife and I are going to get started in chickens. Looking for good info on coops. I want to build this winter to get started early spring with the hens.
