INDIANA BYC'ers HERE!

Does anyone know if someone in Indiana sells Swedish Flower Hens? In the next few weeks I am going to be looking to get some (as soon as DH builds my coop!!) and the closest I have seen them is in Kentucky...

I have been wondering this myself. I would love a few if I can find them in the central Indy area.

I know papa brooder here on BYC sells them. He is all the way in california though. He has eggs and chicks. Last I knew he had swedish flower hen eggs avilable, but I don't know about chicks. I ordered some eggs from him about a month ago but i got blue and white ameraucanas.

Thanks everyone for the bobcat and mountain lion info. It look like i am going to have to do some research on them and or buy a camera thing to put out by my coop.

Whew we were all wondering about those mysterious grey boxes!  I was thinking it was some sort of government grey opps, glad you relieved me of that scarey thought.

Chickens will roost on the highest roost bar, and on the highest end if it isn't level.  They have to be on top!  Allow almost 10'' roost space per adult bird.

I was waiting for him to say the gray boxes were compost bins. I have been using the vegetable garden planner on Mother Earth News to help layout my garden and coop area and there is a nice set of boxes next to my coop too. I'm such a newbie to gardening that I need the help planning the spac needed and what goes together.

About the poor eaten chickens, I'm not sure how workable this might be for you, but I found a wireless night camera set wih four cameras that would show on a screen in he house for less than 140 at Costco. I didn't buy them for myself but it might be an idea. Also ive seen a lot of people talk about just the baby monitors with the remote TVs. They are cheaper and some will go a good distance. I hope you can figure it out safely. I'm sorry you had to find that when you went to the coop instead of happy chickens. It's something I think about a lot.

I do ShawnaScott...She lives in North Allen County though- don't know if that is too far for you. I have an order for 3 chicks- that's the minimum she likes to takes orders from, at least that is what she said to me. I visited her farm a few weeks ago. She has all kinds of poultry as well. Her SFH pair do not show for head tufts but do carry for it so if that is a consideration...

Anyone interested, just PM me and I will call her tomorrow for permission to give out her number.

Haha. Must have posted as I was typing. Btw, the BLRW eggs are looking good! I also just received quail eggs today but won't be hatching when your planning pickup. Maybe we can meet somewhere for the quail

Great news about the BLRW eggs but you might be confusing me with someone else cause I don't need quail! :)

My little blue cochin is broody! She is sitting on eggs plus I put a few under her. She has been sitting for at least 1 day so far. She pecks me when i stick my hand by her. LOL I should get a pic of her sitting.
