INDIANA BYC'ers HERE!

Cluckacres, I'm so sorry. Losing any of them is hard!

Crafty chick, there is a habitat repurpose store in Madison. They are open Fridays and Saturday . All kinds of fun stuff. And I know they did have paint. Also trySherwin Williams ask them for mistints. The greensburg store sells them for 3$ a gal. You may have to do some mixing but I've gotten some good stuff over the years . You might try any place that sells paint and ask about mistints. Pm me if you need to about Madison habitat.

Good point on the mistints! (I work for a paint & coatings company so I have first-hand knowledge on that

.... I've gotten quite a bit of good paint by being in the right place at the right time!)

And the paint places are DELIGHTED to be able to make some money on those "problem children"!

What colors are you looking for? I'll be in greensburg Friday and I need to get some boxes so I can see what they have. Outside , right?

A couple of folks indicated interest in incubating peafowl eggs. I have been incubating them for about 7 years. They are trickier than chickens and the survival rate is not as good, although with proper care, you can have a good hatch.
One thing that I learned is that the eggs have to be turned by hand as well as by the turner; if they aren't turned completely over, they won't develop properly.
If I can figure out how to do it, I'll attach a story and picture of one of the chicks from my first hatch who had to have some orthopedic work.

Can you check with a flashlight maybe? thats so upsetting to lose one. I had traps set this spring and cleared out several raccoon trying to grab a free meal.
