INDIANA BYC'ers HERE!

My grandson helped me and we got the permanent fence up.

Here is the temporary - west side

east side

New fence - 64' x 64'

Dog about to become hen-pecked.

Many fluffy butts.

Chickens stealing potato skin snacks from Millie.

Millie said "Watch me do the Moses number and part the sea of chickens". Silver laced Wyandottes
not very impressive in their markings. Wyandottes and Jerseys are all pullets. Cochin are straight run.
Buff Orpingtons are straight run: turned out 7 roos and 5 pullets.

The cochins and the red laced wyandottes appear to be quality stock from efowl.com.

Blue cochin rooster.

Same rooster with hen looking on (2 months old). Jersey Black Giant hen getting a drink.

I plan to be at the Mooresville 7/28 get together with 10 freezer bound roos about 4 months old.
If they don't irritate me beforehand.

I have
12 Buff Orpington (7 roos),
8 Indian runner ducks (2 chocolate, 4 blue, 2 fawn and white)
6 Buff Cochin
5 Blue Cochin
6 Jersey Black Giants
5 Silver Laced Wyandottes
5 Gold Laced Wyandottes
1 Yellow Labrador Retriever
1 Beat-to-hell Red Golden Pheasant with a lame leg that hasn't gotten any better. I checked and it doesn't appear to be the displaced hock tendon problem. I'm just going to leave him to maybe heal. We will know in a month or so.

Here is a picture of the poor little critter in the dog cage which is his rehab center for the time being. His name is Jimmy Hop-Along. Or possibly Weed-Wacker Jimmy.

John
Looks great! I am doing a turkey pen complete with nesting box, and then a waterfowl coop. working fast to complete it all, need the room badly.
Poor baby Jimmy, he will sure look magnificent when he matures tho. Have you ever been to Jasper Pulaski? They have a "sea" of pheasant flight runs up there. several different breeds, very impressive.

Hi all lake county Indiana here just started byc this have 6 rir and 6 barred rocks here is a few pics of ourin garage coop with outdoor run enjoy

50% on shipped makes me happy. Have had 2 0's, and one batch only 1 hatched.
Yes, had a good hatch on my Texas A&M quail, got 8 out of 14 eggs. leaving them in one more day but I think they are done.
So my quail count is at 60, and have a good stock of breeders to pick from.
Should start to see eggs this week out of the jumbos

I have guinea, pekin, and msc chicken hatching this week also.
I moved hatch day to wednesday so its not interfering with our camping trips once a month.

they have sure grown up! Rangi is still my fav, what a pretty baby.
Glad you got a good hatch! These eggs arent shipped. They are the ones that brad picked up for me from littleameraucanamom, so I put my hopes a little higher for them. And they are popping like popcorn, so I think my hopes will be fullfilled. With shipped eggs I am thrilled with anything above 15%. I always set my hopes really really low for shipped egg, because I never expect them to do good and then sometimes I am suprised.

Quote: I just checked, my pekin and guinea are pipped internally already! These are from my flock so I am expecting a good hatch.
Oh it does make a difference, shipped eggs are a huge gamble. If I find a good seller I stick with them.
I bet you will have great luck, from the pics I have seen she has lovely birds.
Here on byc, Arielle has beautiful bourbon red turkeys, and I have some adorable babies from that hatch.
She is excellent on her shipping and packing.
On Ebay, a fella named trey from corydon, I do very well with his eggs and he packs well too. Side of the box was CRUSHED and not a single egg cracked.
super strong healthy chicks, I have 20 fertile guinea eggs in there from him now. (adding bloodline to my flock)
I have also found a good source for quail, lady named Margaret, excellent packing, had 47 out of 60 hatch in my cheap styrofoam bator!
If anyone wants more info on these people pm me, I love to share good resources.

I am thinking the same thing about the roos. Top left, and top right also. Those two look like the same bird.
