Welcome! I live about 30mins south of Ft Wayne! Glad to see more chicken people up north! I have several chicks for sale of different breeds. Most are 4-5 weeks old and becoming easier to sex. Let me know if there is anything that interests you. I think my lists a few pages back, but feel free to send me a pm and I can send it to you if your interested.Hi Hoosiers! I just joined today-- have been researching for a few weeks but don't have any chicks yet. I would like to have my coop mostly/all built before I even get my chicks. Oh, I live in Woodburn, east of Fort Wayne. I'm planning on getting around 5 or 6 chicks- at least 1 Barred Rock and 1 EE. Still working on the other breeds. I keep changing my mind. There are so many breeds that I'd like to have. I love that there is a "local" board here! Nice to meet everyone and I look forward to talking with everyone. -Wende
Beautiful! I don't doubt that you got first with your silkie. All your birds are beautiful! We bought 3 new pigeons home from the show. I went to take a picture of one of my girls, and the flash scared her !!!!
All the new birds looks great. Orschelns has geese and trying my hardest to resist. If only I had a pond and better waterfowl shelter instead of using the chicken coop. Your coop looks amazing! What size is it and how many pallets have you used thus far? I'm thinking about using pallets to make my new breeding pens but will likely use the compost fiber board siding stuff for the outside.
That is so cute !! I'm sure they will love it once they get use to it .
Im in greenville and have silkie chicks that are 3 weeks old, most of them are black, maybe blue. Here are a few pictures of them.
Absolutely adorable!!!Hi there! I am in Brownstown, IN. Don't know how far you are from me but I do have some Silkies for sale. Ages 1 week, 3.5 weeks, 4 months and some hatching tonight/tomorrow too (30 in the bator so fingers crossed but not "counting them" before they hatchbut I hear cheeping-woot!!). I have a couple of blue, dark blue/black (hard to tell at this point if they are true black or not yet), partridge, white and taupe/khaki. I have a few showgirls too. All are pet-little better than pet quality but not SQ. We are gradually improving our pet stock and breeding toward show standards but aren't fully there yet. You can PM me if I am not too far and you are interested. Here are some early pics of the 3.5 week olds:![]()
