INDIANA BYC'ers HERE!

Hey Brad will you be selling any of these Silkies?

Probably 2, possibly 3. The chicken lady at Orschelns expressed interest the last time I talked to her so I need to follow up with her and see how many she wanted. Ill be most likely keeping all the ones with a vaulted skull. None of my current silkies have vaulted skulls except possibly the showgirl which isn't very vaulted if it is.

Thanks for the info on FF. I'll be sure to look for non-medicated chick feed.

Brad, such cute babies!

Me Me Me, Wolf Lake is awaaay up north.

If anyone wants to drive a little without heading north, the Lucasville OH swap is this weekend. It's about a 3 hour drive from Greensburg; Wolf Lake takes me about 4 hours or a bit more. I was at the Lucasville show last weekend and restrained myself very well

--only bought what I planned to--2 transport cages and a collapsible coop for my white cochin pair.
What kind of collapsible coop did you get????

My chickens hatched an escape plan. Little did they know, today I decided that they should meet Scooby, my JRT, mainly because they needed fed and I didn't want him alone with the new dog. Well, he runs down to their brooder/pen area and I hear an abnormal amount of squacking. I go down to see Scooby joyfully chasing the chickens around the basement. They had all escaped and were roosting in the rafters. I really need my DH to get off his lazy butt and build me a coop! Either that or I'm going to go buy one, this is getting downright silly. Where can I buy a decent sized coop that's not outrageously expensive?

I need some help. I have a collie black lab mix approx 5 months old. Female housebroke and super hyper. She is great farm dog. Loves to herd and never uses her mouth. She loves kids people and other dogs. I don't think my husband is going to let me keep her because she keeps eating all his stuff. She is a sweetheart and it breaks my heart because i know she is going to be a great dog after her chewing stage is gone. She has already been started on herding our poultry. If anyone either has any suggestions or can give her a great home there is a small fee to make sure she will be cared for and loved! I want her to go to the perfect home preferably on a farm where she can run and work.

simple fix. tell hubby to keep his stuff picked up. that solves the problem right there. my dw was having the same issue with one of our borders. then my dw learned to not leave her stuff laying around.

my two leghorns(who are camera shy) and my red pullet(secretly my fave cuz she has the most personality!)

my Rosie is such a ham, camera or no camera!
I love every second of getting to know my girls and watching their personalities come through! Starting to feel like i'm getting a "feel" for chicken keeping now since these lovelies are 14 weeks now. So glad I decided to own chickens.
