I am going to the Great Mooresville Poultry Fest.

I am bringing a bunch of roosters for processing.

Anyone who wants to try their hand at the process and doesn't have a rooster can use one of mine.

I will be there. We will be bringing 2 roosters. I have plenty more if anyone needs them, just pm me. I don't want to bring a bunch of extras only to bring them back home.

Nobody has ever told my flock that!    This is when they normally molt, and feathers are flying everywhere now.

Right now I'm planning to be there Sunday.  Getting a bit tricky as my great-niece who lives with her mother in Idaho and spends the summer with her dad here has to leave on the 2nd, so there's a party for her this weekend.  That's Saturday, I think, so should be okay if I can get everything else done.

I have two guys that can go to the freezer--what equipment do I need to bring?  Not sure if I have any big pots left, but have a sharp machete plus the usual kitchen knives, and of course, a vinyl apron and a cooler.

I'm looking forward mostly to just socializing as well as learning.

And I have 4 white silkies (at least they were white before the last rain) that I'm not keeping for breeding--can't remember sex right now, but they're around 6 months old.  May have Appenzeller and tolbunt Polish chicks, have to check my inventory.   The silkies range from $5-$10, Apps are $5-$10 depending upon age, and tolbunts are $25.  If anyone is interested, PM me. and I'll bring them Sunday or make other arrangements if you aren't going.

hmm, I'm interested in a couple tolbunt if you have any. How old are they? I'm not able to go to the "party" but if anyone from northeast Indiana is going and will to pick them up for me, I'd arrange pickup from them.

Just got home from picking up a Silkie from Bradselig! Thank you very much, she is precious! I need to get pictures of her, maybe after she's gotten a little more used to her surroundings and is no longer pretending to be a statue.

This guy is a Modern Game Bird.

I remember coming across them when I was searching chicken pictures for my bantams.  I can not see why people would find them desirable.. Every time I see one I think prehistoric...
Scary....

I guess I just love the ugly and weird looking animals. Naked necks and Cornish are my top favorites. If it wasn't for these guys temperament, I'd have them. I did just see some beautiful Birchen and brown red modern game bantams that I fell in love with. I might have to look into them! I can handle small mean birds lol.

Is anyone on here from Noble or Whitley County?

Any Austrolorp people on here? I just got 2 beautiful hens from Cluck Acres. An EE and a chocolate colored Australorp. After doing some research I read chocolate is recessive and rare. Any thoughts? Also I got my little black cochin Oliver back from them tonite. I missed that little guy. Tears and everything. lol I may be a little crazy.

She is eating and drinking. I have checked the emergency forum and by the sounds of her symptoms it looks like mareks but I realized my hens has had some problems walking before when she was younger so I believe it might be rickets which is much better than mareks but I don't know for sure

also I want to thank everyone for the information and kindness for my hen. I really appreciate it.

They remind me of the raptors in Jurassic Park! I'm more for pretty in my chickens. However, I took some bantam MGs to a show to sell for someone else, so they were at my place for a few days--sweet, friendly birds. They escaped their cage and of course didn't know me, but they came running and were all over my feet, and no problem picking them up. I still don't want any, though!
