Wow I think the cochins are goodat burying eggs! Just found another freshly laid egg from my lavender pullet! 4 cochin eggs in one day lol. I wish they did lay that well

Her bf is Ozzy and he keeps her warm.
But she doesn't like to be in the cage.
She would rather sit on top of it.

Shes a frizzle without feathers.She is so funny,she sticks her head thru the cage door.
All you see is a bald head and her mohawk.Or you open the cage and see four eyes
looking at you from one body. Untill she comes out from under Ozzys wing.

Awww...Thank you! She is so tiny but will be a yr old next month.Lays a itty bitty tiny egg every few days.Shes just so sweet and loves to cuddle.Had her with the silkies but they ran her over.So gave her and Ozzy their own place.

I hope you guys find a solution that allows you too keep most of your animals without making it too difficult in the meantime. At least you have eggs to eat everyday until its sorted out.

Oh No! Frozen eggs are such a bummer. I was thinking about fully insulating around the nesting box, but I'm not sure it would help. What do you think?

talked to the farmer we get our hay from, ( been buying from him for 3 years) he is going to spot us round bales till we get back on our feet again... amazing how fast things can fall apart!!! His work is going to let him get feed, we got hay covered... now EVERYONE keep your fingers crossed that nothing else goes wrong and we will be good. and Oh Yes WE HAVE EGGS!!! wont go hungry!!! lol

my chicks I got from you... wish I knew if they were male or female??? The feather legged is the friendliest my 88 year old Granny loves that one she will hold it and play with it the whole time she is here.

yes they are members of the fam. Ransom is 11 and I have had him from 2, every thing else I have had ranging from 3 years to 2 mths ( ChickCrazed chickens) but I think we got it all worked out so I don't have to get rid of any of them...

I have read several disclaimers for shipped eggs. I don't think any shippers promise a good or even a fair hatch rate. But still paypal claims get filed. I know that hardin poultry (now heirloom something) is delaying their shipments. And because they delayed, someone filed a claim. No win situation.
Maybe try telling him he is not first on the list and will need to wait his turn.

Really nice birds Brad!

I am playing hooky today from work as i have a headache and my sinuses are killing me. Took some sudafed and watching a new series on Netflix called 'Call the Midwife.' It's a period TV series set in the 1950's in east London. Just on the first episode now and it's really good. Going out to check on the ducks again here in few and just to oogle at them!
