INDIANA BYC'ers HERE!

With regard to my last post about RK and Blue Slate turkeys...they are marked down to $3.00 each!

I wish Martinsville had them instead. Muncie is just too far of a drive for us. But I'm sure my ordered turkey set will come soon. I just have to wait my turn. Actually I don't even need the turkeys poults to show up till my DH's birthday. He knows he is getting 3 blue birds but the turkey part will be the surprise.

He almost tried to claim my blue sumatras as his birthday present when I brought them home.

Busy, Busy day today. Started off at the lab for my wife to have some blood work done. Then off to our family Dr. Turns out I slipped a disk in my lower back from pushing a hay wagon out of the way :( Im not to happy with that I know it will be a long time to heal. Then after being told to take it easy, and do no work by the Dr. I bought my Alfalfa seed and fertilizer Then Went about spreading it on the field today. And if it dont rain tomorrow Im going to pull the seed drill and plant the new field! The meds are working a little for the pain but its still not feeling the best. We also bought a new grill Charcoal/gas combo and I love it (after I got it put together). Now im going to lock down 8 SLW eggs this eve and try to get some sleep. Thats been tough with my back feeling the way it does. Hope everyone is having a great week!!! In a couple days I should have a few more fuzz butts running around lol

Take it easy. Slow it down. You really don't want to know what that slipped disk will turn into if you don't listen to your Dr. If you guys need help with stuff we are right up the road. I hope the blood work comes out ok For CW (your wifey). If you guys need anything let us know.

Well I hope you get feeling better. If the pain gets too bad, have those tests done. You will be happy you did. You don't want to get to a point where you cant do anything because you waited too long. Unfortunately, no one really has time for injury or illness, but, when it does happen, that's our bodies way of telling us to take our time. Let us know if you need help. We have alpaca delivery this Sunday, and shearing next Friday. But we should be around besides that.

I've been sitting here trying to read all 13 days that I've missed sgain and I'm down to the last twenty pages.

The chickens and chicks are good, Our raised beds are going in nicely, We've had a lot of company with more to come, and all is great but very busy. I can't wait for things to slow down a little!

I'm looking forward to reading more and thanks for posting the vanilla info earlier!

I have 10 hens and a rooster...live just outside of Brownsburg. One Barred Rock, 2 Buff Orpingtons, 2 Black Australorps, 2 Speckled Sussex, 1 Jersey Giant, 1 Buff Brahma, 1 Light Brahma, and a Dark Brahma Roo. They are all now just over a year old and laying like champs (anywhere from 6-10 eggs a day). They all survived the harsh winter we had and I didn't do anything extra for them (half expected to see one frozen to the roost when I opened up the coop in the mornings). They stayed in the coop for several days straight as they absolutely hated the snow. Amazingly hardy birds (which is why I chose these birds in the first place to start my first flock).
