check to see if she has been eating, is she full? May account for the liquid poo, if see cant open her eyes long enough to eat. Hope she gets feeling better soon. She just pooped and it is really runny - liquid with some firm parts mixed in there.
Will be a very nice coop for your special kids.
Is the whole building for your birds? That would be awesome.
hope she comes back soon.
I just got a lost dog back. this is how I did it... just to give you ideals that maybe you missed. I called animal control made a report, called the shelter and gave info and e-mailed a pic's with info again, called all area vets and posted flyers there too. also posted flyers in my neighborhood. local grocery stores have bulletin boards to put flyers on. And I did allot of walking and calling. Good luck hope she comes home soon.@granny hatchet Was your dog microchipped? Make flyers with color photos for all the veterinary clinics in your area so if someone comes in with a "stray," they might recognize her. There is a lost pet alert service around Indy which is free (for basic services), but I didn't see anything like that for your area. Still, there may be... I hope you find her soon!
Sorry for your lossOff to bed to sleep off a crummy night. Lost 2 birds to either a coon or a coyote. I got outside in time to find one. She had a broken neck and died in my arms. I feel like I failed them. I know those of us that choose to free range always run this risk, but it just stinks when we're reminded of it. This is my first predator loss in over a year... Boo on naturre.
very nice birds, I am going to steal your feeder ideal if you don't mind. Would save so much feed. I always lose feed to the rain when I'm not home. Here is some pics of my birds at the fair.
Meat birds
Splash Ameraucanas
LOVE this pullet! She did great. I am expecting good things from her at state and Lebanon. She actually got to go inside a bank on check out day lol.
Blue Ameraucanas (there are two chickens in there even though it doesn't really look like it). Really like one of these pullets too
White Plymouth Rocks (they were very stressed out at the fair, I have never seen them act that way)
Mottled Cochin Bantam (he was originally in one of the bantam cages, which I could barely fit in them. And then thought I would be able to get him out. Anyways I got him out and after the show I put him back on the shelf with the bantams in one of my cages.)
Head shots of a Splash Ameraucana (the one that won the reserve's)
White Plymouth Rock
So I have two broody's now and I decided to just leave them alone, besides giving them fertile eggs. The White bantam Ameraucana is laying on a bunch of feed bags beside the freezer that the food is kept in and the barn wall.
A production red is sitting here. I kind of scared her off the nest, but she came right back after she ate and stretched her legs.
This is a feeder that I built. Using them in my breeding pens.

If she has started to brood again, I doubt she will continue to care for the chick no matter what you do. Is she completely ignoring her? For mine, pretty much once they started to lay again, they abandoned their chicks.Ok gang I'm confused! My Silkie Diamond hatched out a pretty little Gem in mid June. She started laying again the first part of last week, yesterday she through a hissy and growled at me when I tried t check under her for eggs...she's broody AGAIN!!! is this normal??? Her little Gem is just 5 wks old and still very tiny! Not even completely feathered out! Grrrrr that poor baby still needs it's Mommy! Should I let her have her eggs and let her brood or try t break her so she'll take care of her chick?
ETA: if I do break her will she even bother t continue taking care of her chick? The Roo, Earl, is still in there with her. Would it help if I took him out of the pen (and put him in the Rooster pen)?
Good deal... Congrats!!!!Someone seen my vid and bought a Dove today!
So happy! I am so happy; I am not going to complain that it is raining.![]()
