INDIANA BYC'ers HERE!

Although I don't have that type of synesthesia, most everyone on the thread knows that kabhyper and I are the most animal-sensitive, I guess you could say.

I don't think you can say that, actually. Most of us on this thread are quite animal-sensitive, at least from my observations. That's why I think even though we are all from Indiana, there has always been a core group of agreeable users that stick around here. We all have our different ways of raising our birds, but I think for the most part we all love our birds just as much as the next person. I mean, just because I don't physically feel what my animals suffer does not mean I don't empathize, that I don't care as much about them, and the same goes for everyone else. I don't know, I just feel as if this was rather insensitive to post. :/ But maybe that's just me.

Yes, this type of blanket assumption is often faulty. I have been fortunate enough to have companion animals my entire life. I have cared for 'dumped' animals and sick animals. I have played with them when times were good. And shed many tears in grief over their deaths. I even kept seven dogs and seven cats (concurrently) IN my home. And the chickens would have a room in the house if it could be arranged!

But maybe that's just me.

I'm the opposite. I'm a terrible pet owner. I like chickens because I get something out of them for my investment. My dog is useless and I sort of hate it. If I felt about people the way I do about animals, they'd call me a sociopath. No empathy whatsoever.

Don't judge me.

Hi, all. I just want to say that I'm SICK of broody Orpingtons!!! I the past 2 months I've had about 6. So done! Not in the mood to try breaking the 3 that are broody now. Waiting it out. Except for one of my EEs, only the BOs have ever gone broody. I now have 3 Cochins that I got for broodies, so I'm considering getting rid of all the BOs.

I don't think she meant any offense, either. I just though it was unfair of her to make that statement. :/ But maybe I'm just speaking out of lack of sleep. I'm not mad or anything, I just felt the need to point that out.

Then call me a sociopath, I don't care much for some humans and/or to be around humans. It seems to me that after they know or "think" they know me . They start to talk about me behind my back to other people; but won't talk to me if they have a problem with me or what I am doing. I've had complete strangers come to me and give their "advise" after what these so-called friends of mine had told them! That's why I like the internet so much. Nobody know who you are really are and no nosy busy bodies butting in to make your real life miserable..........Sorry for the mini rant, had to get that off my chest.

Rave on! But no, you're not a sociopath. You have concern for others. Negative feelings still count.
