Good morning y'all. Change of plans for us...I bought 10 chicks yesterday so we are cancelling our order with my pet chicken. We already love them so much.

I grabbed a couple pics when I woke up. You can tell I woke them too lol.

I manage to get 8 mix Silkies I still have two eggs that I'm pretty sure is done. I'll be checking tonight. So this is best batch of eggs I have hatched.

You are welcome! I'm telling you, they are pure silkies though, not mixes. Congrats! Looks like you have some whites, a blue and a partridge. Cuties!

so glad there is a thread for people in my state! we have had chickens for 2-3 years now and currently have 7 hens and one rooster- looking to increase a bit.

I ment mix of different colors not them being mixed. I got ahead of my self typing. LOL

The bloom that every hen coats her eggs with varies a little in quantity and "feel" when wet.  If you wrap your fingers all the way around the top, bottom, and sides you won't drop them.  You can usually tell quickly if they are going to be very slippery then just envelope them more with your hand and fingers.  The good news is the slippery ones clean quickly, so you should not have to use any more than your fingertips to clean them.

Oh yeah they are the easiest to clean no doubt! Glad there's a reason for the "slippery" coating on the eggs! I thought I was crazy....lol. I don't the eggs too often, but I have noticed that the ones that I do are the ones that have the slippery bloom! Thank you!!!

I am just going to apologize now for the overload of pictures I'm going to post! I was on this T-shirt website called teepring. I have ordered a shirt from them last summer, but I saw this shirt for medical assistants since that's what I'm going to school for and had to check it out. Then I started looking for other things and searched for chickens. I saw these shirts and thought they were cute and funny! And thought I would share! Now just debating which one I want! Lol
