Couldn't just take pics of Blizzard, so.....

Oreo & Double Stuff decided they didn't want to pose.


Poof Poof is molting so looks thinner than usual.


Smudge decided to get very close to the camera.


Trouble is molting & always hates the cold. I think she blames me for the weather. Doesn't she give a great evil eye?


Confused turkeys getting beat up by my EE hen. (Tyrion's 6 yrs old and set in her ways. Turkeys are obviously not permitted near her roost.)


And, here's "Puppy." So far, he doesn't have the good looks of his daddy. However, he's only 4 months old, so a lot can change. His temperament reminds me of Mr Dummy (our all-time fav rooster).


These teen boys are on their way out. They just started crowing a few weeks ago, so it's time. I found them a home, so I won't have to eat them.

Seeing as everyone is sharing pics and whatnot I think I will as well. Above are my now passed Easter egger any mystery chick. She is some rare breed and all of my comparison has me thinking she is a white frost legbar or white maran. Below are Buffy and Freya a buff Orpington and speckled Sussex respectively. I brought them in as my mother is worried about the cold and they haven't been out of the coop all day and i wanted to make sure they got some food in them today.

My notifications have not been working for a week. Anybody else's been turned off? Weird.

I use a laptop I don't know how this would work if your on BYC using a phone. put your mouse over the account tab when the drop down appears click personal details, then click on watched threads it will show "unwathched watched threads" that should list all the alerts that unread posts on the threads you've subscribed to, don't know if it shows the likes, but you can see the treads that you follow that need read....

Thanks, I adore them, too. I'm planning on out crossing to the Mottleds next year to see if I can add some genetic diversity, and some colors, too.

Love your pics, too! Your laced Orps are so pretty! I've always loved how the males look with their white hackles. And good to see Trouble is up to her same antics.

New to the site, glad to be here. We have 2 Khaki Campbell females that could use a good home... Our male peking ducks wont let them be. and our hen ISA browns dont love them either now that they are older... we would love to trade for a chicken hen or 2, or just find them a great place to be them... near columbus indiana

Here's our spoiled little rooster Teddy. (silkied serama) He came inside for a mini photo shoot. Isn't he handsome!

The little birds do have BIG personalities. Like all my roos, he's a big lovie. The big roos pretty much consider him a chick & pay him no attention. He was the only silkied serama we hatched. I kept saying that we'd only keep him until he began to crow. DD fell in love with him, of course, so the plan changed.

Teddy is so friendly and loves to cuddle....... but only when his hens are not in view. (He makes little noises like chicken swears when DD babies him in front of his girls. When it's just him, he adores the cuddles.) He has a few females: reg (smooth feathered) serama, a silver duckwing OEG, and 2 silkies. Due to hawks, these little ones were carried to a chicken tractor every day & then returned to the coop every night. Because of the winter temps, they're now in a private coop set up in our back screened room. They even have a semi heated wall panel in the little coop. (I know the OEG & silkies would be fine but was a little nervous about seramas during a Chicago winter.) I collectively call this group our "useless chickens;" however I also enjoy being able to grab an egg (or a chicken to hold) from right outside our back door.


Like I said they're very spoiled.

They really do! My little silkied Cochins are just full of spunk! My OEGBs were having a hard time with the colder temps, so I understand completely on being protective of them. I ended up bringing mine inside to a pen because I didn't have a setup I felt was safe to heat them outside. I have no idea if they were heated before I got them, and they're both molting, so I played it safe.

Teddy sounds adorable! I've got to get myself some silkied Seramas. They'd probably go really well with the silkied Cochins. I'm starting to get quite the collection of 'useless chickens', myself, but out of all my birds, the only ones laying are the 'useless' ones. I love your setup for them! I'm hoping to make a similar coop for my OEGs out of this old structure that's been out in the chicken yard for years now:
