The hen is fine, just stunned! I put her in the barn with the broodies & chicks until she feels better. She was staggering around some.

I HATE predators!!!!!

Phew! Glad she's ok. I especially hate coons but will shoot on sight any predator I see on my property near my chickens!

Good for you. Nuttin me me happier then when I shot two coons, in one nite, two weeks ago.

WoW! We just got 1 1/2 inches of rain! Our street is flooded andit has claimed 2 cars and 1 truck so far. It is starting to go down now. The yard is soaked to the center of the earth now lol.

Their run is wire with boards running around the entire perimeter and screwed into place atm this weekend the goal is to put the doors and roof on the 2nd run in the coop, run the 2nd layer of wire around the bottom 2 ft of the run and secure it then run quickcrete around the entire perimeter and about 6 inches out from the base so that anything that tries to get in has to tunnel under quick crete and wire, etc.

But the run door is padlocked and the coop doors are padlocked, so I go out everymorning and let the kids out of the coop, if I am going to be home I let them free range in the yard/edge of the woods during daylight hours, and then at night they get padlocked into their coops and padlocked into the run . . . . here is hoping that keeps working rather well for me :x

Anyone near Indy need cheap OSB? I had been talking to a lady who has 3 full sheets of OSB she is selling for $6.00 a sheet and it is 1 inch think. We were going to use it on our Turkey pen but Rob's good friend gave us a bunch of free lumber so we don't need it. She said I could offer it here and she would wait a week before posting on craigslist!! PM me if interested.
