On that topic....

When I was a kid I went to the chicken house just wearing my dad's big t-shirt that I had slept in (I don't even think I had shorts on, just underwear...lol), and I had a bunch of young chickens in the house.

I also had tons of bug bite scabs on my legs where I'd been bitten and scratched them, in my achilles area in particular.....

I went in the chicken house, and the chickens started eating the scabs on my legs...yes, literally eating them....and in the process, ME. lol

I didn't want to kick them and hurt them, I was afraid to go back out the door of the house cause I didn't want them to get out....so I ended up crawling out the pop door into the pen and escaping through the door to the outside out there.

I escaped with blood running down my ankles....but I survived. lol

Wow crazy story. We have yet to have anything like that happen, although, our green cheek and parrotlet love to pick at scabs

I usually wear long pants or old jogging pants in the coop, I think I will steer clear of wearing shorts for sure.

My internet has been down, so had a lot of reading to do to catch up. Lots of interesting posts!

I have a few packages of bedding, some corn cob and some paper, that I use in the brooders. My sis works in a facility that raises laboratory animals, and if the bedding arrives with a puncture in the packaging, they can't use it so give it or throw it away. Can bring some for prizes or just to give away if that sounds okay.

Luna, there was somebody on the Kentucky Traders thread that had Buckeyes, or maybe it was the Kentucky thread.

I know he would have a good home.. I still hope he shappens up because he is my big baby. He half half of his bottom sickles in and still doesn't have the tops yet.

Ok then, I will bring multiple cheesecakes, maybe a couple with cherries, and a couple without. Me, I prefer it with cherries, or I like chocolate chip cheesecake. But then again it's hard to pass up anything with chocolate in it, isn't it? I'll try to convince her to make at least 4. I'm sure she will gladly cause I'll be in the kitchen helping as usual!

Sounds like great fun. I'm new on the forum, but if hubby does not have to work, we will be there!!! Oh, and we will be on the lookout for a light brahma rooster while we are there! Our girls need a guy!

I'll post a definate when I get his schedule. (he actually works as a nurse in the Cancer unit, I think we may find something to donate for the cause!
