Ok, this is a good time to remind everyone to please make sure you PM anyone you would like to get eggs or birds from. Several people are traveling a great distance and I wouldn't want them to bring birds you are not prepared for or bring birds you said you wanted but forgot about! We are really close to party time and I think now would be a good time to get those PM's in order so everyone has a chance to prepare!

Oh, and I received a gift from The Michigan Chickenstock folks yesterday! It's a cute little chicken doll that I will be using for a prize!

Ok, one last thing I wanted to share!

We have been eating out too much over the past week because ROb had been working a lot and I have just been too busy or tired to cook. So, anyway, I went to Wendy's the other night and they had a flyer in the bag that said "Family Night- Every Tuesday and Wednesday between 5pm and 8pm. Any kid's meal is 99 cents with the purchase of any combo or large salad". To me, if you eat Wendy's, sounds like it might be a good deal. I don't know if it is all the Wendy's locations or just the one by me but they will be doing this until 9/30/09.

Good morning! I found my little plastic eggs to put tiny items in, or maybe the numbers for a prize. Yes, that's an idea! I find I am spending more than I thought I would, but its all for fun! I am looking for stuff everywhere I go---that pinata is HUGE!

Where are we going to place it? (On grass, cement?) I wouldn't want things to get broken! LOL I looked at confetti, but it would be a mess to clean up. Thats why we don't allow them at the park where I work! Too messy.....

This is a very sad morning for me... Last night/this morning was my first predator loss.. Of Course it had to be my favorite bantam Newbie. This has me so heart broken that now I do not think I can get anymore chickens from the swap. I have no idea if I'm even coming to the swap now. It sucks to go walk in your neighbors yard and find whats left of your favorite right next to your fence and pick up the remains by hand. She was laying/or about to lay aswell. I'm choking on my own tears right now.

I am soo sorry.. That has to be just devastating... But don't give up, sometimes we don' t understand why, but they is always a reason these things happen..
Just remeber that death isn't the end of life just the next path in it...

I feel like it's my fault.. I should of been outside with them to watch them and not worring about the stupid county fair.

Its amazing how fast something can get them.. I worry every time I put my girls out to free range.. I can't be out there to watch them all the time because LIFE gets in the way.. I truly beleive that we have a set time when we pass away and when that time comes it comes regardless of what we think or do...

Try not to beat yourself up .. Mourn for your sweethearts but don't blame yourself..

I think she went under the fence to lay an egg under my neighbors shed. When I was picking her up there was broken egg shell in with her feathers. So close but yet so far..

I feel for you too--its happened to all of us at one time or another. I feel that it does happen for a reason, even though we have no clue what the reason is.

I just lost my blue slate turkey hen to something, only to have her last 2 eggs hatch for me!!
