Well, the sheep are fed, the pigs are fed, 10 pens of poultry, fed and watered....caught the small flock of SLW, and have them caged and in the truck...caught the 2 khaki Kambell drakes...remember the 2 inches of rain we got Thursday!?? Yeah, well...I looked like I was in a greased pig catching contest afterwards! Got the drakes caged, caught and caged the White EE roo, packed food and water..and bowls for the animals...chairs, chips, plates, napkins, camera, and DE.... and got my shower...now, pack the ice chest, and we will be on the way, by 10am. I hope! LOL I am so excited!! See everyone soon!!

Was GREAT!
That pinata Carole made was great, nice use of Kevlar! Miss_Jayne is a great artist. What a beautiful property your neighbors are lucky to have u! The food was better than our family dinners , and that is saying something. Enjoyed everyone, sorry I did not bring pullets to those who assumed I would. Got a great Drake from Justusnak; even the other drakes thought he was cute! Thistles loved all the prizes she won. Great hosts, great food, great time; thanks so much.

I had a BLAST, Thanks for having us.

I got some DE, which I have been wanting to try, cant wait to try it out.

I didnt buy one bird, thats a frist for me to not buy any birds. I was/should have took some to sale, but didnt have the time since I found out lastnight on 2nd shift that I didnt have to work today.

It was really nice to have met everyone, to finally put a face to the emails, now if I could only remember who all I met. hehehhe

Thanks to all who helped, who donated items, time, painting, toys/games, for the food and to Everyone who came, it was alot of fun.

Thanks to BYC for everything they donated and for having this great club that brought us all together, Thanks Niffty..........

I will post pics tomorrow when I have time to sit down and rest a bit..................

We are finally home too! What a great weekend! It was so good to meet everyone and hang out and talk chickens. I hated to leave.......but I'm sure we will see you again soon.

Kathleen thank you so much for hosting such a wonderful party. You worked so hard and it really showed! I hope you got the chance to enjoy yourself and I hope you're pleased with how it turned out. I know the rest of us were!

Sorry we had to miss some of the fun but our boys were about to melt into puddles of screaming goo. They fell asleep FAST tonight, too.

Hope the rest of the party was good and that the pinata smash was a success. Hope someone took pics and videos of the kids taking whacks at it and will share them. I love pinatas!

I also wanted to share a link to a product I spoke to a couple of people about today. It's called "Surround WP" or kaolin clay and it's an organic product that does a really great job of keeping away Japanese beetles and other pests from crops and plants. I used it on a couple of my favorite shrubs, my roses, my willows and my cucumbers to protect them from cucumber beetles. It's supposed to be great for orchards, too. Anyway, here is the place where I bought it: http://www.agriculturesolutions.com/Insect-Traps-and-Barriers/Surround-WP-Crop-Protectant-25-Lb-/Detailed-product-flyer.html

Do
a search on google and you'll see how much cheaper this place is than the rest (though a few have dropped a little closer to their league). It's insane. Oh, and I didn't buy a fancy agitating sprayer. I just used a regular garden sprayer and shook it a lot.

It was so nice to meet everyone today! I hope to get our chickens soon and enjoy the challenges and perks of chicken ownership. Thanks for the inspiration!

You need tell everyone that you did not make that pinata, that it came from the place you work.

Everyone was thinking you made that thing out of chicken wire, it sure did take a beating.

It was fun watching all of the kids have a go at it.
