Indy area Chicken work Co-Op

I know it's last minute guys. Racinchickins is gonna take my babies and mom and dad are gonna take 4 adults. I need some help either with a coop or hauling my coop their house and getting it in their backyard. Could someone please please do this.

your Dad made a very good purchase. It certainly will be ok for 4 birds, maybe they will enjoy the visit so much they will decide they need to have some! I hope your fight pans out and wakes up your local code enforcement/animal control. They are following what they believe is "code" but sometimes its in who is reading it.
Been there, and I kept an open mind on every call I went on. The hardest one was the "gorilla attack".. it was a young chimpanzee. The"owner" was irresponsible and took it outdoors unleashed. It bit someone. It was a real mess, end result was worse.
Anyways.. be calm, firm and informed. You are dealing with politics. Petitions are fantastic! People, bodies at the meetings even more so! You are doing the right stuff, hang in there and keep posting. If any of us can help we will, as soon as you know a date/time make it known at every step. Remember, this is not only helping you, but the community you live in too. We need to be able to keep our basic rights, like raising our own food, teaching our kids the same. Using our own home & land to meet our needs.
Be sure to post on the indiana BYCers thread so members see it and can help you. Racin created this thread to plan work events and many of our members aren't on here yet.

Short notice guys!

The committee meeting is the 16th. I've been allowed to keep my birds uess.the ordinance doesn't pass.

Anyone wanna help me get the area nice for the councilman visit.

You are welcome to come and shovel some of our pine chips away in a truck. It might save you a bit of money and we can get more for free. We are a bit busy though so loading your truck would fall on you.
Another useful hint, spray everything down with vanilla water in a misting bottle or small hand paint sprayer. It will help keep the bugs away and cover any smell.
Looks will be a priority of course so maybe hide any cost saving built form scrap junk stuff. We have several feeders, waterers, nesting boxes, calcium stations, all reused items. They tend to look more farm style than high class back yard chicken style. Leah's mom has fake flowers in pots on her coop windows. Stuff like that will greatly increase the style in the eye of a non farmer.
