Inexpensive source for pop bottle waterers

But those are $.99 each plus shipping, these are $13 total including shipping for a dozen. A dozen from gun dog supply co. would cost you at least $15.

They work better with Pepsi brand bottles, the 'mouth' of the Coke bottles is too short for them to fit in there very good.

Plus you have to take the plastic ring off the bottle to give it a bit more room.

EXACTLY, THEY ALSO WORK WELL WITH GLASS BOTTLES.

What is a "GLASS BOTTLE"?
Pepsi/coke bottles work fine. Just remove the ring. Water bottles, for those of you that have more dollars than sense, don't really work.

HA HA more dollars than sense...

Heck, I didn't even buy the coke bottles. I pulled them out of the recycle bin at work.

Me and thee my friend. I have people/friends/family that drink down that awful stuff, and save up the bottles NQA.

One mans trash is another mans treasure!

Our feed store carries a small section of bird, cat, hamster, etc. and bottle waterers are over there... not as cheap as ordering a bunch I'm sure, but if you only needed one... might be worth looking... OR even mention to YOUR feed store that maybe THEY should carry them... and point THEM in the direction of that price.... maybe they'd hook you up with a lower number for a lower markup??

If you need one thing to water (WHATEVER) then you probably need 2 or 12 of the same thing to get the job done!

Unless you like cleaning one thing, 3 times a day. Yeah...give me one of those pop water bottle thingies.....You probably need at least a dozen. Just my best guess

Ha! If I ever find what I did with mine (probably stuffed back in the Bogey Man's hole in the basement) then I'll sell them to someone here for a cut rate, I'll tell you that much!

I much prefer canning jars. :0

Most of my button quail have the tiny little 1/2 cup (seriously) specialty canning jars. Works perfectly for them. Plus I can give them a rinse, toss in the dishwasher, and let it do the work for me. I have enough to swap them all out if I want to. A few have some bigger bird cups that hook onto the door of their cage. I don't like those as much - too tall. I need to switch those out soon.

My coturnix have chick waterers with jars. They work fine for them BUT you need to modify them. Just cut a short piece of "big" white pvc pipe & glue it to the bottom with hot glue or with silicone adhesive. Then it raises it up off the ground enough that they don't muck it up as badly. They'll still muck it up if they are on a hard floor, but not if they are on wire (or not as fast if on wire). Learned this trick from a local friend. I'll take a picture of how he modified feeders and share that another day.
