Infection in rooster- ears (?)

I am not sure but I think my new rooster (hand-me-down,got him last night) has infected ears.

There are big, swollen balls, the size of large hazelnut, just above the ear lobes. I am guessing that his ear holes are the crusty, draining things in the center. These balls are sort of hanging off the side of the head and are in the red, featherless tissue.

I will post pictures later but wanted to get some input as soon as possible.

Anyway, he seems to be acting very normal - alert, moving about, bright comb, etc.

I really dont know, but what about cleaning with hydrogen peroxide and some neosporin?

Maybe just use the warm moist compresses until you get more solid feedback. Ears and eyes should be treated very carefully.

The picture didn't come up in the link, but the suggestion to NOT use peroxide did. I get chronic ear infections and would never use peroxide. It would just dry the skin and make it crusty and inflamed.

I like the idea of the warm olive oil just because if feels so good and antibiotics in some form. I wonder if on that other site, if she ever determined if it was cocci that caused the ear infection? I'd probably also try the cider vinegar. It couldn't hurt.
