So, i put together a new mouse bucket trap today to see if the can higher will work better than my husbands design.
I have the bucket out in our garden shed, and since i know i have chipmunks and red squirels out there and this is a mouse trap, it might not work.
Wish me luck!

HaHa...Mine is now sitting above the bucket rim. This is what you call "research".
Oh I see you added sunflower seeds to sweeten the pot.

I didn't get anything again but I don't have a board yet. But mice are climbers so I can't imagine they can't get into it otherwise I could put all my stuff in a 5 gallon container and it wouldn't be touched by pooping mice.
Anyhoo... I saw a video where they put food in the bottom and caught many, but then of course they are still alive.

I got one field mouse in the bucket i built yesterday.
I may have "moused out" the locations of my other buckets, so i will move them today.

I just set up my purchased "Drop in the Bucket" mouse trap. We'll see if it works any better than my homemade one.

Yes and I have water in mine. I can't imagine it works much better than the one I made, but we'll see. The one I bought is also slightly different than the one in the video. The roller is yellow and smaller.

No mice with the new setup. I'm not gonna touch it for a few days and see if that helps. Maybe they are shy about new things. Also there was chicken crumbles spilled in the pine shavings so that gives them another food source, so that could be my biggest issue.
