I really need to get video of the way Bumpers walks so you can see it. I hate describing it this way, because I don't want to offend anybody, but she walks like a chicken would if a chicken had cerebral palsy. That should give you a very clear picture of her gait. She can't fly at all. But she does really well and has adapted. When the rest of the chickens start to go in the pen she will actually stand next to it and yell for me to come get her by crooning loudly. It's totally adorable. And any time they're free ranging and she feels threatened or exceptionally tired, she comes up and sits on the porch and clucks until I come out to see her.
Now that I think of that... I'm building them a new pen, which is farther away. When she adapts to the new coop, I won't be able to hear her. Maybe I should install a baby monitor...
