Injured Chicken Eating Own Egg

I have a hen that was attacked by a dog earlier. She seems mostly ok except he tore the back of her neck open some. I went out to check on her again and she had laid an egg away from her normal laying area, broke it open, and started eating the yolk. Anyone heard of anything like this before?

Do you have a picture of the wound? Hens will sometimes break and egg and eat it. She may be stressed from the dog, or scared of the others pecking her wound. Is there a way to keep her separated in a dog crate with food and water until her wound heals? They are more comfortable when they can see the others. Are you cleaning the wound with saline or disinfectant, and applying some plain Triple antibiotic ointment on the wound?
