Injured chicken

*Update*
Maserati is healing well. I let Her hang out with her sisters day for a little bit. But she stopped eating and looked depressed I tried live meal worms (didn’t work). I ended up giving her some hard boiled eggs (Seemed wrong but it worked!).

I need To cut back some of the feathers that are covering the wound but she keeps pecking me and then the wound, any suggestions on sedating or calming her so I can Fully clean up the affected areas??

Boiled eggs are actually a really good healthy snack for them :)
The only thing I can think of to calm her is to place a cloth loosely over her head. I would normally also wrap a towel around their midriff to stop wing flapping but that may be difficult for you to do whilst tending to that wound. Perhaps you would get to wrap a towel around her 'shoulders' to limit flapping?! Best of luck, you're doing great :)

Good idea from @Cragg Klefor cover her head while you are tending to her wounds.
I don't know of anything you can give her that would safely sedate her.

Eggs are wonderful! If she will eat those, let her have some. You mention she seems depressed, is she still that way? I would check to make sure her crop is empty in the mornings. You can also try to entice her to eat by offering a wet mash made of her food. I have been known to mix a little chopped grapes or even stir in a teaspoon of sunflower seeds to entice one to eat.
Let us know how she's doing.

Okay I need more help! She’s stopped walking! Tried to get her up and moving today and it’s like her back leg is paralyzed. She has been walking this whole time with only a little limp. A few days after the attack I was finally able to cut back a lot of the feathers blocking the wound(s) and discovered a cut on her leg but it was already pretty much healed. Her wings work perfectly fine, as do her toes they curled around my fingers when I picked her up. If I place right leg (injured leg) directly under her she will lay down and move her head normally. but if I just Put her down without adjusting the leg she falls over on her side and tries to balance with her wings. Unsuccessfully. When she falls over she just lays there puts her head down and starts to breath with a wheeze. Any suggestions to get her moving again?

Do you have updated photos of the wounds on her back and of the one you discovered on her leg?
Were you able to find or order some antibiotics?
You mentioned last week she was depressed/not eating well - is she still that way? Can she eat/drink on her own and have you checked her crop to see if it's empty in the mornings?

It's very concerning that she wheezes if she can't get up. Can you feel her abdomen, is there any fluid in the belly?

Seeking vet care is always best. You can try making a sling for her to keep her more upright, that may help the breathing if she falls over.
It's been a while since she was attacked, but if she were mine, I would still give her a round of antibiotics

If you search google images for "chicken sling" you will find a lot of good ideas about how to make a sling for her. She would need to be monitored while in the sling.
When she sleeps at night, you can also roll up a couple of thick towels to help keep her propped up.

Still seems a little depressed but she is eating and drinking on her own. Crop has been emptying, has normal bowl movements, we started the fishmox about 2 days ago. Didn’t feel any fluid in her belly this afternoon.
I did the towel prop this evening hopefully that will relieve some pressure.

Thank you for the sling videos, I’ll try that tomorrow! I’ll update you all with pictures soon :)

It's good that she's eating/drinking on her own. I hope the antibiotics start to help.
Please do keep us updated.

Betadine is very good to flush the wound, since it's a liquid, and doesn't burn. Then, as gently as possible, put triple antibiotic ointment on it. Layer it fairly thick, so it doesn't hurt as much, putting it on. Leg muscles can hurt more following an injury, or sprain, than they do at the time of the injury. Both the wound, and the leg should do better in time. The wound will heal, but it is going to take several weeks.

In the meantime, I'd keep her isolated from the flock, until she's healed up.

Lots of good advice here. Be sure to keep her warm and hydrated too. Birds who are in shock can have trouble controlling their body temperature. Also if she keeps picking at her wounds you can make a E collar like vets give you when they spay or neuter cats and dogs. You can make it from container lid or those cheap plastic cutting boards from the dollar store. Just be sure to tape up any sharp edges. Here's a tutorial on how to make one. You would probably need something larger as she's a full grown chicken.

**update!**
Last I updated she stopped walking. I tried the sling but she didn’t like it at all! Flapped her wings all crazy and I couldn’t calm her down. I could have held her wings down but I thought she might have a heart attack so I aborted that mission. Spent a lot of time on my knees basically doing physical therapy . Anyways I ended up taking her to my local cat/dog vet (I got a part time job at the front desk there and they were nice enough to let me bring her in and use some of the tools to clean her up and get a better look at everything) Was able to get some stronger antibiotic and have been giving it to her twice a day. I’ll edit this later with the name of the antibiotic incase anyone else has expierenced this and only has a cat/dog vet in the area. It’s been 2 days and she has started to use her legs again! Her appetite is where it should be and she looks less depressed! I cant be happier with her progress. Still doing chicken physical therapy daily but it’s worth it!

Sorry I ‘m such a newbie at chickens. I have more questions...
I have a friend that gave me 3 baby chicks. About 4 days old and they are TINY. The mom is maybe the size of my hand. Right now I have them in the bathroom with Maserati because it’s the warmest place for them. I’m working on building a more secure brooder but for now they are in an old dresser with a heat lamp and doggy pee pad.

My questions:
Is it safe to have them in the same room? can the chicks get anything from my wounded chicken or my other chickens in general?

And is she okay to be around them, do you think she will harm them physically?I went out for about 2 hours and when I came back she moved from one end of the bathroom to the other and was staring at them. Didn’t look like a mean stare but it startled me because she can barely walk and she traveled just to see them.

I ended up setting up a spot for her in front of them because she kept coming back!

Pictures of her wounds will come tomorrow when I have help holding her. But for now I have Pictures of the chicks.
