LGBTQ+ Poultry Keepers

Okay, so it's been driving me crazy. I love this thread (actually looking at cool cacti now thanks to TwoCrows).
I love a sense of humor, dang near fell off my chair over this one.
Opinions?
Lots of cacti lovers in this thread! 🌵❤️

I feel this way about men sometimes and would rather dance with a woman. :gig
I don't know what's going on here, but I'm here for it. 🤠🌵💃💃 🕺🕺
Best of luck on the new job!
I actually got hired today, most folks don't take a chance on a 60+ year old redneck.
As I used to tell everyone, dress appropriately and be nice! :old
Congrats!
You're too kind. :love
My Missus gets (almost) all the credit.
She's been a bit down in the dumps lately, I'd like to get her something awesome that would flourish here, maybe something for an indoor office?
Or a spectacular outdoor?
I'm looking for wow factor.
I really love your Opuntia ficus-indica barbary fig (or whatever it is.) I've seen huge ones and I am super jealous! I think they are so cool--would love to have the street cred of one of those in my front yard.

If you're not looking to add more potted cacti, maybe you could do her a little outdoor cacti and/or hardy succulent garden? I thought the Houston Botanical garden had a pretty nice outdoor display. (There are some neat Mangave in Part 1.) (That Opuntia cochenillifera paired with whatever golden barrel-looking ones they planted there are just outstanding, I think.)

I'm not saying you should shop here, but there's a site called "Cold Hardy Cactus" that that seems to sell primarily that that might be good to browse.

Anyways, looking forward to hear what you decide on or narrow it down to!

King of the cacti (some type of tree cricket Oecanthus sp. I think).

I don't know if it's some kind of scale or something on the dragon fruit cactus (I got rid of it after I took the picture the best I could,) but I found some on my Ficus benjamina and got rid of it, too. The ficus is another houseplant of few I haven't killed yet.

I think all of my plants are probably happier since you all are pretty much responsible for getting me into plants again (I mean, I know some are best left alone, I get it, haha, but hopefully they aren't being too over-doted, I know a lot of it has been overlooked and overdue...)

I'll probably come back here and talk some gymnocalycium with you in the future (someone's favorite color is orange so that's how that works, lol). It would have been just fine if it were my favorite colors (purple and green) so I could take it off of the graft, but oh well.

I did do something funny today and ripped off a pup thinking it was mealy bugs, but oops (at least it wasn't mealy bugs:D).

I hope everyone is having a nice week!

I know this is soooo off topic and happened months ago, but I just learned that aart passed away. I was looking through some old threads and saw the "legacy member" and years by her name.

What an enormous loss for the BYC community. This makes me really sad. I know she would pop onto this thread occasionally. I really learned so much from her and it's upsetting to know she isn't here to share all of that no BS, straight-to-the-point, "where-in-this-world-are-you-located", very helpful information. RIP. 🥀
