Hey everyone - I have a ~3 month old silkie cockerel.
He is in my flock that gets along great and is never picked on.

2-3 days ago I noticed his wing looked a little funny. He is holding it slightly down and away from his body.
I picked him up and palpated the entire wing - found no fractures or dislocations.
He didn't seem to mind and didn't appear painful - he can pull back his wing but not seemingly with the same force as his other.
He is getting along completely fine - eating and drinking well. Free ranging with the others when I am home to watch.

His wing isn't drooping to the point where it drags or trips him.
It hasn't gotten any worse or any better.

I am just wondering if this is something I should attempt to wrap to the body of if that will likely cause issues with him and the girls as he will have something on him they will want to get off - I know I can keep him away from the others with my other silkie but they are doing amazing with my LF girls and I wouldn't want to cause any setbacks in the group dynamics by taking them away and having to re introduce them.

Blurry head but you can see how the wing is being carried

side wing shot

the wing closer to the other silkie is the one affected - frontal view.

Thanks in advance for any input.

Were your silkies vaccinated for Mareks disease? A drooping wing can be a sign of Mareks disease, but he also may have hurt it, so don't take that as a diagnosis. Just watch him. Other signs of Mareks are lameness in one or both legs or wings, a drooping neck, losing balance, using wings to balance, and lying on on the back. Another sign is having one leg stuck out in front, with one going under or backwards. I would start some poultry vitamins and electrolytes just in case he is dehydrated, and make sure that he is getting plenty to eat and drink. If his wing seems injured or broken there is a method of splinting the wing with a figure 8 bandage. Here is some reading about Mareks and splinting a broken wing:

They were vaccinated.

He is eating and drinking great - crop is nice and full whenever I check and I see him at the feeder and waterer all the time. Still chasing the large girls out of his way.

I'm thinking it is an injury as it has come
On suddenly. Do you know if splinting it will cause the other girls to bother him ?

Thanks eggcessive - that's what I was thinking.

It doesn't appear to be getting any worse At least.
