I put a triple antibiotic on him after his bath. Thanks for the advice. Do I need to change his diet during all this?

Is he eating good? if he is then just make sure he keep it up, and give him the vitamins which will help him keep his immune system up during this stressful time. If he like peas then try giving him some mashed up in a little warm water. you want him eating good to keep his strength up.I put a triple antibiotic on him after his bath. Thanks for the advice. Most ducks love peas. and giving him vitamins in his drinking water will assure he is getting a good dose. I'm happy to hear he is eating and drinking great, that means he is feeling good. Just want you want. He's eating and drinking great. Once we get the vitamins, which should be soon, we will immediately give them to him. We also have some left-over peas in the fridge, so I will try your idea. Thanks![]()
Update: I fed him some mashed peas in water, and he ate them all gone. The swelling is about 60% the size it was the day we brought him in. He's still eating, drinking, and behaving great and like usual.
It's a miracle how animals can heal themselves, sometimes even when it seems like a vet can't. All we do is give him food, water, baths, and put ointment on his part.Yay!
This happened to my Muscovy once. He healed himself though!
Just remember don't let him mate for a good while or it may happen again. It's a miracle how animals can heal themselves, sometimes even when it seems like a vet can't. All we do is give him food, water, baths, and put ointment on his part.
