Injured duck question help.....

So, I came home about two days ago and my duck was limping. He ins't putting weight on that foot and he has not eaten anything yet today. I know it isn't broken but what do I do?

Should I see if it gets better by Monday or call and see the vet? I'm not sure why he is limping it could be anything from playing with the dogs ( he thinks he is one) to hopping off the porch ( its one step down). Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I have found that most non-emergency cat/dog vets close early on Saturdays and none of the avian vets near me are open on Saturdays, so that's why I asked.

Yeah, the closest one is three hours away...and closes at four today might not work...in the mean time what would help him? Separating him? Googling didn't help it just said he could have worms or staph. Which I checked his feet its not bumble foot.

You could keep him from being on his feet and legs so much for a few days and see if that helps. sometimes rest is the best medicine. also Epsom salt soaks can help with inflammation and or swelling. Just make sure he doesn't drink the water it ia also a laxative. How old is your duck? Do they dogs play rough with him one may have rolled him and he injured his leg.

Hes about a year and a half. It very well could have been. The dogs are rough but I've never had an issue. thank you for answering my post I appreciate it!!

Keep him quiet and away from the dogs with rest. Hopefully in a few days he’ll be much better if not then abet visit .
