So I’ve managed to splint her leg/foot.
How long should I leave it on for with a possible break

Broken legs can take 3 or more weeks to heal. A callus forms which feels like a large hardened area when the bone heals. Sprains can take weeks to heal as well. Let us know how your chicken is getting along.

A massive thank you to those who helped guide me on this. I managed to stint troubles leg and foot and kept her indoors for 3 weeks.
The “cast” came off yesterday and I let her walk around calmly in the house for 24hrs.
She’s finally graduated into the stable today where she’ll adjust to the cooler weather and get around on her foot a bit more before going back to her friends in the garden
Can’t thank you all enough!
I was very concerned we’d lost her.

So glad to hear that she has healed. Sometimes putting them back in the coop in a wire dog crate for a few days can ease the re-integration problems. She looks great. Thanks for updating.

She is a little feisty so I think I’ll try the dog Crete when she comes back to the garden. Thank you
