Injured hen who is barely able to walk? **HELP!!**

I didn’t see bumblefoot, though I’m not positive I didn’t miss it either. What would leg mites or a sprained ankle look like?

Yeah she was roosting and nearly fully recovered— this morning, she just came out of her coop croaking and limping. Her flock won’t leave her side and she’s back in the run.

That’s good to hear! I’ll be sure to keep an eye on it through the day to see if it gets better.
Look for any raised scales on her legs. That is a way to determine leg mites.

I could not find any physical evidence of anything being wrong with my rooster when he sprained his leg. He just limped and after a couple months it went away.

I also kept my rooster with the flock once his limping stopped hindering his normal chicken behaviors. As long as she isn't being picked on, which it sounds like she isn't, she should be okay once she starts walking more, even if she is limping.

Do you have plenty of ventilation inside your coop? Are their windows? If not I would make more ventilation. Is your coop and run shaded? There should be shaded water available, and I put out a flat pan of water for them to soak their feet and legs in hot weather.
Their coop is fully shaded and they have multiple points of access to both drinking water and wading water… I’m not sure what’s wrong. She was fine yesterday…
I keep the door to the coop itself open so they have that.

Mine just like the cool air when they are sick and then I put them in my spare room in a home depot goat with chicken wire with some paper towels on the bottom once I figure out the problem and keep them in there until they’re healthy.
Perfect. I just bought a dog crate for her and her heatstroke case but she ended up bouncing back very quickly. Guess I’ll be able to put it to use now! :)
