She still isn’t opening her eye. I’ve been watching her and she’s scratching at it and that’s where the abrasions are coming from. The lower eyelid seems stuck in place and unable to open. She’s having a hard time eating and drinking and she doesn’t want any help, she is trying though. At this point, would you try to force open the eye to get a better look? Or possibly flush out the eye with something? I’ve been very gentle with her so far because she’s obviously uncomfortable and she isn’t one of my lap chickens.Vetericyn is okay to use on the face or around the eyes, but I would use the antibiotic (Neosporin, Terramycin) ointment. Vetericyn spray or eye gel is good for spraying on wounds or using in the eye, but it is not an antibiotic. It is probably bacterial or injury causing the swelling and eye drainage.
