Injured pigeon?

Her mate may not have been with her at time of injury. The pigeons do not always fly in tandem. Example; mate sitting near nesting area, and other pigeon searching nesting materials, or food. :idunno

Don't get toooooo emotional about pigeon relationships. Many of those are the category that would be on Jerry Springer.
There are the Casanova type with multiple mates, as well as mates with same orientation mates:oops:
It is good that you rescued this one. The mate probably found a new piggie, or went back to old girlfriend:gig

Just wondering how your pigeon is progressing.... :idunno

Rose is doing awesome! Just rec'd her DNA results back to confirm that she is a female. Getting in touch with some rescues to see if I can adopt a friend for her.
Thanks for checking up on us!
