This is my young roo latte, he would be 24 weeks now. He had been doing good in the coop. And then today, my other rooster Roadrunner, attacked him and then latte ran and wedged himself between a straw bale and beam on the wall of the coop. We checked him all over and saw no lacerations. He is eating and drinking good, and in the quarentine kennel with blankets, as it’s easiest for him to balance on. However he is getting worse. This video is from a week ago.

And now his legs are splaying and he is having way more issues. I do have him on vit b suppléments as well as a multivitamin and electrolyte combo for chickens. He is still eating drinking and alert, but I’m worried for quality of life. Vet is not an option so I’m doing my best and I feel absolutely awful for him. Does anyone have suggestions or been in a similar situation?

This video is harder to watch, but it shows his worst, which was today..

Thank you so much..

Hi there, I'm sorry you're going through this.
What is his diet? I know you're giving vitamins but if it's a balance issue brought on by the attack, he may need more vitamin E.
Can you feel and swelling or heat from his joints? Have you tried hobbles?

He is on grower feed. The balance is all since the attack. I just happened to be getting eggs so I saw it all happen.. he was fine before. He is a bit swollen on his ankle joint, and he had bruising on his chest by his wings when it first happened. The vitamin he is on has minimal vitamin E, but I can definitely add it otherwise .

I’m relatively new to chickens.. and unsure what hobbles is? I’ll look it up :)

I didn’t realize what hobbles were called. I was actually looking at that today, if that could help him. But didn’t see much for adults, only baby chicks so I wasn’t sure

I'm not sure it will help him at this point but if he gets worse, maybe.
Sometimes traumatic events trigger deficiencies, you want to give him 400 i.u vitamin e every day for a few weeks. They're sold as gel caps in the human vitamin section. And maybe 1/3 of a human B complex vitamin daily.

He looks like he's in a lot of pain, is he still quarantined in a small space? Can you put him in a sling a part of the day? To take his weight off the leg? Feel his good leg and then his bum leg and look for bruising ( green colored). I agree with @nuthatched , vitamin e and b complex, give him some raw yolk and any yummy stuff he likes to keep him eating. Poor baby 😢

I have had him on a third of a dose of vitamin b complex liquid for about a week now. And I actually have vitamin e capsules so I just gave him 400iu on a tiny piece of bread and he gobbled it up. So I can keep that up. Poor dude, I absolutely adore him, and feel so bad for him.,

Can you up the dose of b vitamins? Give half a dose instead of third.
