Injured three day old chick

Yes, maybe not broken.

I have three week old chicks, I felt their legs to see how big their bones are at that age, and they are skinny mini. I just can't see that your week old chick would have bones that thick.

Ok that’s a plus so I’ll keep everyone updated. I start back in into the school year Monday so I won’t be with “her” as much as I have this past week. She is under a heat lamp inside my home in a brooder. I lined her bed with cut grass and she loves it. She has her water and feed and is eating well. Fingers crossed.

It would be good if you can have a friend or family member help you with her so you can examine the leg more closely.

I still think it looks like a bone sticking out.
She may be able to move about now but consider how you will deal with this as she gets older and heavier.

How can I do that?
Feel the back of both knees. It is difficult, but the good knee should feel like the tendon is behind the knee. The bad one, if it is slipped, should feel like the tendon is off to one side.

And how would I go about assisting in fixing it?

Carefully straighten out the effected leg and try to manouver it back to the right spot. If it is slipped tendon, you might want to lightly splint it in a straight position for a bit.
