Many states including here in FL it is illegal to take, capture or otherwise house (if even to nurse back to health) ANY wildlife. Rehabbers only job, and migratory birds area big no no in all states to have possession of from the wild for any reason. (except during permitted hunting season)

Violin be happy you found someone who could determine the best treatment, even if there was none. You did the best you could and the right thing.

So sorry she didn't make it and I'm sure you feel a little sad for taking her there, but you did the right thing. I've taken animals to rescue places that seemed mostly OK, but was told they had to be euthanized because they were too sick or injured to be released or have any kind of normal life. At least she is not suffering anymore.
