I'm always up at this hour as I work from home as a contracted transcriptionist. My former job before I retired was nights so I just find I work better at night.

When I do finally go to bed, then I just turn on the heating blanket, crawl in, and play Fishdom on my iPad. That seems to usually put me to sleep.

My mom is that same way. Even though she’s retired she still gets up really early because she is so used to it.

I think I stopped sleeping normal ever since I got my first kid 🤪(32 years ago) before that, not even the fireworks on new year’s eve could wake me up, ever since I’ve become a mom, I wake up at every sound, even just the pump of the furnace ( in the basement) wakes me up 🤪 I usually get up between 4-5 am, wake up a few times at night and have trouble falling asleep, seems I’m not the only one, so misery loves company 🤗 I could never fall asleep during the day ( how I would loved to have that talent when the kids were younger) ever since I got my covid jab, I can sleep during the day, IF I have enough time….( which I usually don’t) since I have a lot of nervous energy ( don’t ask me how I still can have any 🤷🏻‍♀️) it takes me just an hr. to wind down, then I have to know (!) I have at least 2 hrs. if I don’t, I start stressing out : only 1,5 hrs. left to sleep, only 1 hr left to sleep, you catch my drift… but if I do fall asleep ( usually, it is only 20 minutes) I feel really refreshed 😂 so, that is why I don’t sleep very often during the day to catch up on all the sleep I missed during the nights 🤪 if I have a long drive ahead of me, I usually get up early, and drive till 3pm, any later, all those sleepless night catch up to me, and I’m in danger of falling asleep at the wheel 😬
I’ve never been a super great sleeper but I’m right there with you about it getting much worse after I had my first daughter (6 years ago). I can sleep during the day if I’m tired enough but not if my kids are awake. Even if their dad is home and I’m upstairs away from them I still worry they will need me somehow 😑
Have kids they said, it’ll be fun they said 🤣😅 that’s my favorite thing to say when my kids are driving me bonkers haha

I'll probably sleep tonight because I have nothing to do in the morning as it is supposed to rain a lot tonight so I can't work in the garden early and there are no appointments and the coops are good with feed and water until noon at least.

Oh good!!! I hope you get some really great rest!

I was up about from 2 until 4am. Took another 10mg of the 3a.m. Melatonin. I'm still groggy now after being out in the heat that is most unbearable right now. It's not the temp as much as it is the combo of heat and very high humidity. I so want a nap but have to keep push before the rain comes around 3pm. Then I'm done for the day.

Ugh I’m sorry you didn’t sleep well. It is also SO muggy here. It’s like you get hit in the face with moisture as soon as you walk outside. I had to be up at 4:55 to get to work. I just got home and now I have stuff to do around here when all I want to do is nap 😅

It seems like there are just not enough hours in the day to take care of things here on the farm and find time to sleep too.
