Hi! I have 8 original hens. I got 5 Polish chickens. Only 1 is a hen, the others are roos. One of the roos ended up with wry neck so he was inside with me until he was well. I let Stevie (the one that had wry neck) free range all day while the others are in the run. My 8 and Polish are in separate runs/coops and they can see each other. In the afternoon I let them all out to free range. Stevie is the low man on the totem pole. I want to put Stevie and my other Polish hen in with the other 8. Do I just put them in the coop and hope it goes well? They have all been free ranging together for at least a couple months and its probably been a month that Stevie has been outside every day. I have seen the roosters beat on him and I have seen some of my other girls beat on him. He just runs away, or tries to. I have worked so hard to make him healthy and he is the sweetest little guy. I am afraid they will kill him. What is the best way to get him to be part of the family?
