Is the only access you have to that tiny coop from the door in front?
More pics of that please, showing inside and ventilation.
The small opening in the fence between runs should be adjustable in size and closable.
Yes, they need rain shelter in the small run, just leaning a good size board up against the fence would do, leave egress at both ends.
Rain shelter not an issue easily done . I don’t want to confuse matters with the little coop, because Id rather they slept together. my husband just knocked a shelter up for them and there isn’t any other access which is why I don’t think it will work if they do choose to go in their given I’ve been advised to put them in big coop when they are all roosting. Unless I get him to make it a removable roof tomorrow. Is the only access you have to that tiny coop from the door in front?

I don’t understand about an adjustable small gap in fence. If it’s small enough for them to get through and too big for the others.
This was instead of spending money on a triangle run with an enclosed end which is essentially just a wooden box with a door.
