Interesting Behavior on Roost Recorded by Time-lapse Camera

I have been trying to watch an owl lately with a couple game cameras in the barn. Seeing some interesting chicken activity through the night.

I am having trouble creating a time-lapse series I can link to.

To put things in a nut shell, they move around a lot more than I thought. In trees they sit quietly. Within pens in the barn they stand up on roost in a rhythmic fashion. Movements appear synchronized.

Why?
