This handsome fella showed up on my farm this evening... No clue where he came from. He's trying so hard to get close to my hens who try to attack him at every turn.... He's currently roosting in the trees next to my coop. He won't let me get close to him... Even tried tossing him some scratch, he eats it but stays too far away to get close.

Ideas on how to catch him?

I didn't say or insinuate he was mine... I asked how to catch him... He is harassing my chickens and driving them out of the coop in their attempts to get away from him. We don't know who he belongs to although I have ads posted on our community Facebook and NextDoor.

If he makes the mistake of flying into the property of my neighbor, he's one dead bird as my neighbor has 4 Rhodesian Ridgebacks who are not friendly... I'm asking advice because I'm trying to keep him and my birds from getting killed.

Then the easiest way is to start feeding him something he can't resist like cat food. Start by putting it near a shed or garage entrance then when he is eating it move the food inside. When he is eating shut the door. It takes a day or two but that is the easiest and surest way. Trying to net him in the open is very difficult, even seasoned veterans have trouble catching a bird out in the open.
