The other night at dusk one of my hens came out of the coop acting odd. She hopped up on a roost and pushed out a yolk and some egg white. No sign of shells. Then she released feces. I thought that was a good thing. She continued to try and push and eventually hopped down and went into the coop. She has been fine since but is not laying any eggs. Up to that point she was practically laying an egg every day...amazing. How common is this and should I be concerned? Thanks

She may have a soft egg shell in there and you may want to do a probe. If she's eating, drinking and running around with the rest though don't worry about it. Just make sure to get more calcium in her. If she starts having problems, do the probe (check inside the vent).
